IE expo China 2024, held successfully from April 18th to 20th at the Shanghai New International Expo Centre, highlighted emerging trends in China's environmental technology solutions and offered valuable insights into shaping the future. With ongoing support and extensive recognition from industry peers, IE expo China reaffirmed its position as Asia’s premier trade fair for environmental technology solutions in the areas of water, waste, air, and soil. Celebrating its 25th anniversary, IE expo China 2024 has been a significant witness and driver of innovation in the development of China's environmental industry over the past years.

As environmental technology in China is going through a period of dynamic progress, IE expo China 2024 offers promising prospects for a resilient industry and sustainable growth: The show occupied the entire 17 exhibition halls of 193,000 square meters, gathering 2,457 exhibitors and attracting 90,120 trade visitors.

A Growing International Presence

As China is sending out a positive signal of further opening up and cross-border economic and trade exchange is being further intensified, international participation in IE expo China 2024 has increased significantly. This year's exhibition successfully attracted ten national/regional pavilions, from Denmark, Germany, Japan, Norway, Netherlands, South Korea, UK, USA, as well as Hong Kong China and Taiwan China. “IE expo China holds significant international standing. We have showcased our expertise across various fields at IE expo China for many years, demonstrating our overall presence and operations in China.” said Yao Liu, senior manager of government affairs and public relations of Veolia Group.

At the same time, IE expo China 2024 welcomed overseas trade visitors from 75 countries and regions. The top ten overseas visitors came from Russia, South Korea, Malaysia, Thailand, Taiwan China, India, Japan, Vietnam, Germany and Philippines. Zhen Lei, senior business growth manager of Xylem (China) Co., Ltd. said, “The exhibition facilitated meaningful interactions with target customers, enabling us to explore new business opportunities further.” IE expo China has thus proved to be a valuable platform for Chinese environmental enterprises to interact and cooperate with the world and for international enterprises to expand their opportunities in China.

Resource Utilization Solutions Rise to the Second Place

Solid Waste Management, which is linked to pollution reduction at one end and carbon reduction at the other, is a crucial area for achieving the country's dual carbon goals. In recent years, with the support of the "Zero Waste City" pilot projects and related policies, the resource utilization and energy recovery in various sub-fields of solid waste have gradually become a trend and a new driver of performance growth. As the second-largest thematic exhibition area at IE expo China 2024, the Waste Treatment and Circular Economy exhibition area covering nearly 40,000 square meters. A large number of exhibitors showcased the entire industry chain of technologies, equipment, and solutions for such as solid waste treatment and recycling and solid waste resource utilization. Concurrent forum activities delved extensively into topics surrounding pollution reduction, carbon reduction, and comprehensive utilization.

Jingshi Jia, sales director of Beijing ENSA Engineering Co., Ltd. commented that “This year, we unveiled the latest solutions for fly ash, mine restoration, and the recycling of solar panel and lithium battery panels. We got many positive responses and successfully engaged with customers in targeted fields. IE expo China not only boosts our brand but also efficiently connects us with buyers, making it a must-attend event for our company.”

The need for discussions has never been greater, as environmental technology is in a state of upheaval and the players in this sector need to exchange ideas. Top experts from all around the world and high-caliber industry representatives come together to exchange views at the accompany programs of IE expo China Environmental Technology Conference including over 40 sub-forums, spanning six major environmental segments including water, air pollution control, waste, site remediation, environment monitoring, and the comprehensive sector.

Further IE expo trade fairs are on track: IE expo Chengdu from June 26 to 28, 2024 and IE expo Shenzhen, from September 23 to 25, 2024.
