Ceramic membrane water treatment equipment
Ceramic membrane is an asymmetric separation membrane made of ceramic materials such as alumina, zirconia etc. It is in form of single tube and multi-channel, with densely packed micropores on the tube wall. Under the action of operating pressure difference, the feed liquid flows in a cross flow within the membrane tube. The part smaller than membrane pore size enters permeate side through membrane pore to become filtrate, while material larger than pore size is intercepted by membrane to become concentrated solution, thereby achieving the purpose of material separation, concentration, and purification. The entire filtration process is dynamic filtration, separation is completed in a flowing state. The solute only deposits limited on membrane surface, and the rate of filtrate permeation decays to a certain extent and tends to equilibrium, which can be restored through cleaning.
Membrane separation process is an efficient and environmentally friendly separation process, which is a high-tech interdisciplinary field. It can exhibit various characteristics in physical, chemical, and biological properties and has many advantages.
Compared with traditional separation technologies such as distillation, adsorption, absorption, extraction, and cryogenic separation, membrane separation technology has the following characteristics:
◇ Efficient separation process
Substances with relative molecular mass of several thousand or even hundreds can be separated (corresponding particle sizes at the nanometer).
◇ Low energy consumption
Most membrane separation processes do not undergo phase changes, latent heat from phase changes is significant. Traditional separation processes such as freezing, extraction, and flash distillation undergo phase changes and typically require high energy consumption.
◇ Operation temperature close to room temperature
Most membrane separation processes are operated around room temperature, so membrane itself has unique advantages in handling heat sensitive substances. At present, it has unique promotion and application value, especially in the fields of food processing, pharmaceutical industry, biotechnology etc.
◇ Good quality stability
Membrane equipment itself has no mobile component, operates close to room temperature, so it rarely requires maintenance and has high reliability. It’s easy for operation, and it runs fast starting from device startup to products, allowing for frequent start and stop operation. Compared to traditional processes, it can significantly shorten production cycle.
◇ Successive operation
Membrane separation process can achieve continuous operation and meet the practical needs of industrial production.
◇ High flexibility
Membrane equipment varies in scale and processing capacity, easy to scale up and promote industrial applications step by step. Membrane separation device can be directly inserted into existing production processes, easy to combine with other separation processes, facilitating the reconstruction of existing processes and the integration of upper and lower processes.
◇ Pure physical processes
Membrane separation is a purely physical process that does not undergo any chemical changes, and does not require addition of any substances such as filter aids or chemical reagents.
◇ Environmental protection
Membrane separation equipment is made of clean and environmentally friendly materials, and work site is clean and hygienic, in accordance with national industrial policies。
